9#48b. மனஸா தேவி (4)

முனிவர் காச்யபரிடம் அடைக்கலம் புகுந்தது
மனித குலம் பாம்புகள் மீதுள்ள அச்சத்தினால்.

உருவாக்கினார் பல மந்திரங்களை காச்யபர்
பிரும்ம தேவன் உதவியைப் பெற்றுக் கொண்டு.

உருவானாள் மனஸா தேவி முனிவர் உச்சரித்த
திரு மந்திரங்களுக்கு ஏற்ற ஒரு வடிவம் எடுத்து.

மனத்தினால் உருவாக்கப் பட்டதால் இந்தத் தேவி
மனஸா தேவி என்ற காரணப் பெயர் பெற்றாள்.

ஆயிரம் திவ்விய வருடங்கள் பூஜித்தாள் – இவள்
தூய கயிலைமலைக்குச் சென்று சிவசங்கரனை.

எளிதில் மகிழ்பவன்; எளியவற்கு எளியவன்,
அளிப்பான் அரிய ஞானத்தைச் சிவபெருமான்!

அளித்தான் மாபெரும் ஞானத்தை மனஸாவுக்கு;
அளித்த உபதேசமாக அஷ்டாக்ஷர மந்திரத்தை.

லக்ஷ்மி மாயா காம பீஜத்தோடு கூடிய
லக்ஷணமான கிருஷ்ண மந்திரம் அது.

புஷ்கர க்ஷேத்திரம் சென்றாள் மனஸா தேவி;
புரிந்தாள் தவம் மூன்று லக்ஷம் வருட காலம்!

தரிசித்தாள் கிருஷ்ண பெருமானை – அவர்
அருளினார் சித்தியும், இளம் பெண் வடிவமும்!

9#48b. ManasA Devi (4)

In olden days, men became greatly terrified by the poisonous snakes and took refuge in Sage Kas’yapa. With the help of Brahma, Kashyapa composed a mantra following the principal motto of the Vedas.

While composing the mantra, Kasyapa intensely meditated on the Presiding Deity of the Mantra. Due to the power of his penance, Devi ManasA took shape and appeared there. She was named as ManasA Devi since she was produced by the power of the sage’s mind.

On being born, ManasA went to the abode of Lord Sankara in KailAsa and began to worship Him for one thousand Divine years!

Lord Sankara became very pleased and bestowed on her the Great Knowledge. He gave her the eight lettered Krishna mantra. She got from Him the Kavacha – an amulet – auspicious to the three worlds.

ManasA went to the Pushkara Kshetra and worshipped Sri KrishNA for the three Yugas. Sri KrishNA appeared before her and made her youthful and beautiful again. He granted her this boon, “May you be worshipped throughout the world” and disappeared.

ManasA was first worshiped by the Supreme Spirit Sri KrishnA, secondly by Lord Sankara; thirdly by Sage Kasyapa and the Devas. Then she was worshipped by the Munis, Manus, NAgas, and men. She became widely respected in all the three worlds.
