9#48c. மனஸா தேவி (5)

வரங்கள் தந்தார் கிருஷ்ணர் மனஸா தேவிக்கு;
வழிபடச் செய்தார் மானஸா தேவியை மாந்தர்கள்.

மணந்தார் முனிவர் ஜரத்காரு மனஸா தேவியை;
குணமிக்க இல்வாழ்வு வாழ்ந்தனர் இவ்விருவரும்.

உறங்கி விட்டார் ஜரத்காரு முனிவர் ஒருநாள்;
மறையும் நேரம் நெருங்கியது ஆதவன் வானில்.

சந்தியா வந்தனம் செய்யத் தவறும் அந்தணனை
வந்தடையும் கொடிய பிரம்ம ஹத்தி தோஷம்!

பாவத்தை அடையக் கூடாது கணவன் என்று
பயத்துடனே எழுப்பினாள் கணவரை மனஸா.

கோபம் வந்து விட்டது ஜரத்காருவுக்கு – பரி
தாபம் பாராமல் சீறிச் சினந்தார் அவள் மேல்!

” அபசாரம் செய்யலாகாது கணவனுக்கு மனைவி!
அனுஷ்டானங்கள் பயன் தரவியலாது அவளுக்கு!

பதியின் ரூபத்தில் இருப்பவர் பரமாத்மாவே!
பதி சேவையே பத்தினிக்குப் பரமாத்மா பூஜை.

பத்தி சேவைக்கு ஈடாகாது வேறு எந்த
துதியும், தானமும், தவமும், விரதமும்;

யாகமும், புண்ணிய தீர்த்த ஸ்நானமும்,
யக்ஞமும், புனித ஸ்தல க்ஷேத்ராடனமும்!

பதி விரும்பாத காரியத்தைச் செய்பவள் ஒரு
பத்தினியல்ல! ராக்ஷச குலத்தில் உதித்தவள்!

உழலுவாள் நரகத்தில் பன்னெடுங் காலம் – பின்
உருவெடுப்பாள் பதி, புத்திரன் இல்லாதவளாக!”

9#48c. ManasA Devi (5)

Muni Jarat KAru married ManasA Devi. After the marriage they lived happily. One day, Jarat KAru fell fast asleep and slept on for a long time until the Sun was about to set.

Then ManasA Devi thought to herself, “If my husband fails to perform the SandhyA Vandanam, he would incur the sin of Brahmahatya and the other crimes will come down on him.” At last she took courage to wake her husband from his deep sleep.

Then Muni Jarat KAru became very angry and said,” I was sleeping happily. Why have you disturbed my sleep? All the vows of a woman go in vain – who displeases her husband. Her tapas, fasting, dAnam, and other vratams all go in vain who does unpleasant things to her husband.

For the sake of fulfilling the vows of the chaste women, ParamAtma Sri Hari himself becomes their husbands. No austerity can become equal to even one-sixteenth part of serving one’s husband well.

She who does unpleasant things to her husband or who speaks unpleasant words has come from a bad family. She will go to the hell and suffer as long as the Sun and Moon last. She will be born again without husband or a son!”
