9#48f. மனஸா தேவி (8)

மனைவி நாபியை மந்திரப் பூர்வமாகத் தொட்டு,
மனஸா தேவிக்கு வரம் தந்தார் ரிஷி ஜரத்காரு.

“உண்டாகும் உனக்கும் பிள்ளைப் பேறு;
உண்டாவான் உனக்குச் சிறந்த புதல்வன்!

இருப்பான் சிறந்த புலன் அடக்கத்துடன்;
இருப்பான் தர்ம சீலனாக, உத்தமனாக.

திகழ்வான் வேதமுணர்ந்து தேஜசுடன்;
திகழ்வான் புகழ் பெற்ற தவ ஞானியாக.

திகழ்வான் ஈஸ்வர பக்தி மிகுந்தவனாகத்
தன் குலத்தைக் கடைத்தேற்றுபவனாக!

கூத்தாடுவர் மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் பித்ருக்கள்
உத்தமன் நம் மகன் தோன்றியவுடனே!

நல்ல ஒழுக்கம் உடைய பெண் பதிவிரதை;
நல்ல இன்சொல் பேசுகின்றவள் பிரியை;

நல்ல புதல்வனைப் பெறுபவள் தர்மிஷ்டை;
குலத்தை நன்கு வளர்த்துபவள் குலமங்கை;

நல்ல ஈஸ்வர பக்தியைத் தருபவன் பந்து;
நல்ல தெய்வ கவசத்தைத் தருபவன் பிதா;

கர்ப்ப வாசத்தை நீக்குபவள் அவன் தாய்;
கர்ப்பத்தைத் தரித்துத் தாங்குபவளும் தாய்.

தயையும் அவளே! தாயும் அவளே – யம
பயத்தைப் போக்குகின்றவளும் அவளே! ”

9#48f. ManasA Devi (8)

Hearing the words of Brahma, JaratkAru recited a Mantra, touched the navel of his wife ManasA and spoke to her thus, “O ManasA! A son will be born to you who will be self-controlled, religious, and the best among all the Brahmins.

Your son will have tejas, energy and fame. He will be well-qualified! He will be the foremost of those who know the Vedas. He will be a great JnAni and the best of the Yogis.

That son is a good son who uplifts his family; who is religious and is devoted to Sri Hari. Pitris dance with joy when such a son is born.

A wife is a true wife who is devoted to her husband, good-natured, Sweet-spoken and religious. She is a mother of her sons, she is the woman in the family and she is the preserver of the family.

He is the true friend who implants devotion to Hari. He is a good father who shows his son the way to devotion to Hari.

She is the True Mother, through whom the disease of further entering into wombs ceases for ever! She is also a good sister who makes the fear of Death vanish!”
