சுத்த சத்துவ வடிவினள் லக்ஷ்மி தேவி;
சௌபாக்கியத்துக்குத் தெய்வம் இவள்.
அதிஷ்டான தேவதை செல்வ போகத்துக்கு!
அதிர்ஷ்டத்தால் மாற்றி விடுவாள் வாழ்வை!
அமைதி, அழகு, சாந்தம், ஒளி படைத்தவள்;
ஆறு மன மலங்களையும் விலக்கி விடுவாள்!
பக்தர்களுக்கு அருள் பலிக்கும் தாய்;
பத்மநாபனுக்கு அதீதப் பிரியமானவள்.
பிராணன் ஆவாள் நாரணனுக்கு இவள்;
பிரேமையோடு, பக்தியும் கொண்டவள்.
லக்ஷ்மி, வைகுண்டத்தில் ‘விஷ்ணு பத்தினி’;
லக்ஷ்மி, சுவர்க்கத்தில் ‘சுவர்க்க லக்ஷ்மி’!
லக்ஷ்மி, ராஜ்யங்களில் ‘ராஜ்ய லக்ஷ்மி’;
லக்ஷ்மி, ராஜாக்களிடம் ‘ராஜ லக்ஷ்மி’.
லக்ஷ்மி, இல்லங்களில் ‘க்ருஹ லக்ஷ்மி’;
லக்ஷ்மி, உயிர்களிடத்தில் ‘சோப லக்ஷ்மி’.
லக்ஷ்மி, புண்ணியவான்களிடம் ‘ப்ரீதி லக்ஷ்மி’;
லக்ஷ்மி, கண்ணியவான்களிடம் ‘சாந்த லக்ஷ்மி’.
லக்ஷ்மி, க்ஷத்திரியர்களிடம் ‘கீர்த்தி லக்ஷ்மி’;
லக்ஷ்மி, வைசியர்களிடம் ‘வர்த்தக லக்ஷ்மி’.
லக்ஷ்மி, பாவியர்களிடம் ‘கல லக்ஷ்மி’;
லக்ஷ்மி, வேதாந்திகளிடம் ‘தயா லக்ஷ்மி’!
பல்வேறு பெயர்களோடு விளங்குபவள் இவள்
பல்வேறு நன்மைகளைத் தருபவள் இவள்!

9#1d. LAKSHMI DEVI
The second S’akti of the ParamAtman is named as Lakshmi Devi. She is the Presiding Deity of Wealth and Prosperity and she is of the nature of S’uddha Satva.
She has a very pleasant temperament and is always auspicious and peaceful. She is free from greed, delusion, lust, anger, vanity and egoism – the six defects of a human mind.
She is devoted to Her husband and to her devotees. Her words are very sweet and pleasing. This Devi resides in all the grains and vegetables and so She is the Source of Life to all the beings.
She is residing in VaikuNtA as ‘MahA Laksmi’ – always in the service of Her husband. She is the ‘Heavenly Lakshmi’ residing in the Heavens and the “Royal Lakshmi’ in the palaces of kings and the ‘Griha Lakshmi’ in the households.
She is the glory of the glorious people and the fame of those that have done good and pious work. She that is the prowess of all the powerful kings. She is the trade of the merchants, She is the mercy of the saints, engaged in doing good to others. She is worshiped by all and reverenced by all!
