9#48i. மனஸா தேவி (11)

தியானம் செய்தனர் இருவரும் சிவபெருமானை;
ஞானம் பெற்றனர்; சோகம் நீத்தனர் இருவரும்.

ஜரத்காரு முனிவர் சென்றார் தவம் புரிந்திட;
பரமேஸ்வரனிடம் சென்றாள் மனஸா தேவி.

மனம் இரங்கினாள் அவளைக் கண்ட பார்வதி;
மனஸாவுக்கு உபதேசிக்கச் செய்தாள் சிவனை.

மனம் தெளிந்தாள்; மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் வாழ்ந்தாள்;
மனஸா தேவி ஈன்றாள் அழகிய புதல்வனை.

பெற்றிருந்தான் புதல்வன் ஞானோபதேசங்களை
கர்ப்பத்தில் வாசம் செய்து வந்த காலத்திலேயே.

புகழ்ந்தனர் அவன் மேன்மையை அனைவரும்;
புரிந்தார் ஜாதகர்மம் ஸ்வயம் ருத்திர மூர்த்தி.

கற்பித்தார் வேதங்கள் நான்கையும் அவனுக்கு;
பெற்றான் சிறுவன் ஆஸ்திகன் என்ற பெயரை!

அறிந்திருந்தான் “காலத்தைக் வென்றவர் கடவுள்!”
சிறந்திருந்தான் தன் குரு பக்தியில் ஆஸ்திகன்.

உபதேசம் பெற்றான் ருத்திர மூர்த்தியிடமே;
உடனே சென்றான் புஷ்கர க்ஷேத்திரத்துக்கு.

தவம் செய்தான் அங்கு மூன்று யுகங்களுக்கு;
தவம் செய்தான் மூன்று லக்ஷம் ஆண்டுகள்!

திரும்பினான் ருத்திரருடன் சில காலம் வசிக்க;
திரும்பினான் கச்யபரிடம் மனஸா தேவியுடன்.

தானங்கள் தந்தார் மகிழ்ந்த காச்யபர் – அன்ன
தானங்கள் செய்தார் மனம் மகிழ்ந்த காச்யபர்.

அதிசயித்தனர் ஆஸ்திகன் தேஜஸைக் கண்டவர்கள்!
அங்கேயே தங்கிவிட்டான் ஆஸ்திகன் காச்யபருடன்.

9#48i. ManasA Devi

Some time later, true knowledge dawned in them and they both became free from their sorrow. JaratkAru enlightened ManasA and asked her to meditate on the lotus feet of ParamAtma. He went away to do penance in Pushkara Kshetra.

ManasA felt distressed with sorrow and went to her guru Lord Sankara in KailAsa. Lord Sankara and Devi PArvati consoled her by imparting true knowledge and good advice. Some days later, ManasA gave birth to a son born as an amsam of Lord NArAyaNA.

When the child was in ManasA’s womb, he had listened to and absorbed the highest knowledge from the mouth of MahAdeva himself! So he was born as a Yogeendra and the Spiritual Teacher of JnAnis.

On his birth, Lord Sankara Himself performed many auspicious ceremonies. Brahmins chanted the Vedas for the welfare of the child. MahAdeva taught the boy four Vedas with their six Angas (limbs) and did upadesam of the Mrityumjaya Mantra. The child was named as Aastika.

Aastika then got the MahA Mantra from Lord Sankara. He went to Pushkara Kshetra to worship VishNu. He did severe penance for three eons or three lakh divine years.

He returned to KailAsa, to pay his respect to his guru – the great Yogi Lord Sankara. He remained there for some time. Later ManasA went to the hermitage of Kas’yapa, her father, with her son Aastika.

Seeing ManasA with a son, Kashyapa’s joy knew no bounds. He gave feast to the brahmins along with gift of gold and gems. Aditi and Diti – the wives of Kashyapa- were very happy to see Aastika. ManasA remained there for a long time with his son.
