“வாசம் செய்வர் தேவர்கள், தெய்வங்கள்
வாசம் மிகுந்த துளசிச் செடியின் அடியில்!
புனித நீராக மாறிவிடும் துளசியின் கீழ்
மனிதர் தேக்கும் சாதாரண நீரும் கூட!
துளசித் தீர்த்தத்தால் செய்கின்ற அபிஷேகம்
வளம் தரும் ஆயிரம் குடம் பாலபிஷேகம் போல.
அருந்துபவர் அடைவர் விஷ்ணு லோகத்தை
மரண காலத்தில் துளசி நீரால் பாவனமாகி.
லக்ஷம் அஸ்வமேத யாகப் பலனைத் தரும்
லக்ஷ்மீகரமான துளசி மாலை அணிபவருக்கு!
பொய் சத்தியம் துளசியின் அடியில் செய்பவன்
வெய்யிலில் புழுப் போல துடிப்பான் நரகத்தில்!
துவாதசி, மாதப் பிறப்பு, அமாவாசை, பௌர்ணமி
தூய்மையற்ற நாட்களில் துளசியைத் தீண்டுவது
விஷ்ணு தலையைக் கொய்த பாவத்தைத் தரும்!
வீணாக்கவே கூடாது துளசியின் இலைகளை.
கல்லாகும்படிச் சபித்தாய் நீ என்னை – கிடப்பேன்
கல் மலையாக மாறி கண்டகி நதிக் கரையினில்.
கிருமிகள் துளைத்து துவாரம் இடும் அக்கற்களில்;
உருவாக்கும் என் அரிய சின்னகளை அக்கற்களில்!
கண்டகி நதியினில் விழும் இந்த சாளக்கிராமங்கள்;
வண்ணம் மாறும் பிங்களமாக சூரியனின் ஜாலத்தால்!
தீர்த்த ஸ்பரிசம் தரும் தீர்த்த ஸ்நானப் பயனை;
மூர்த்தி பூஜை தரும் யாகங்கள் செய்த பலனை!
சாளக்கிராமம், சங்கு, துளசியைப் பூசிப்பவன்
விளங்குவான் ஞானியாக, விஷ்ணு பக்தனாக!”
துளசி எடுத்தாள் ஒரு திவ்விய உடலை;
துளசி அடைந்தாள் திருமால் திருமார்பை.

9#24c. The greatness of Tulasee
Vishnu told Tulasee the greatness of Tulasee Vruksham and the Tulasee leaves.
“The Devas and Gods reside under the Tulasee Vruksham. The ordinary water poured at the foot of the Tulasee plant become a holy theertam. The abhishekham done with the Tulasee teerthm will yield the merits of the abishekham done with one thousand pots of pure milk.
The person who drinks Tulasee theertam at the death bed will reach Vishnu Lokam having been purified by it. The person who wears a Tulasee MAlA will get the merits of performing one hundred thousand AswamEda YAgams.
One who swears under the Tulasee vruksham uttering a falsehood will land in the hell and suffer like a wriggling worm under the scorching sun.
It is wrong to touch the Tulasee plant on DwAdasi, the first day of the month, the full moon day and the new moon day. This will give the sin equivalent to cutting off the head of Lord VishNu. Tulasee leaves should never be wasted.
Tulasee! You have cursed me to become a stone. I will become a huge mound of stone and lie at the bank of river GaNdaki. Thousands of tiny worms will drill holes in those stones forming my holy symbols in them.
These SAlagrAmas will fall into the GaNdaki river water. They will turn golden yellow by the play of the sunlight. The mere touch of this water will give the same merit as a bath taken in it.
The pooja done to this moorti will yield the same merit as a yAgA. One who worships the SAlgrAma, Tulasee and the conch will become a great JnAni and a staunch devotee of VishNu!”
Tulasee cast off her mortal body and took a divya roopam. She is residing on the chest of Sri VishNu ever since then.
